Interact was founded by three Elkins moms - pediatrician Janna Brown, archaeologist Jessi Thompson, and social worker Lydia Johnson Grady - who met through an outdoor early childhood education program for local families. Casual conversations about the need for more play and educational opportunities for their own children planted the seeds for what would quickly grow to become a community-wide project. We are inspired by children’s museums around the country and we hope to bring some of that magic home to Elkins.

Interact Children's Museum is currently operating as a mobile museum as we continue our search for the museum's permanent location. Look for our programs in local schools and at community events around the area. We rely on volunteers to deliver high-quality, interactive learning experiences for kids and the grown-ups who care for them.
